Dearborn Heights District #7 School Board of Education Vacancy Interest Letter Notice
On August 7, 2024 at a Regular Board Meeting, Trustee Nadia Nasir, announced her resignation from her seat on the Dearborn Heights District #7 School Board of Education Ms. Nasir was elected to the Board in January of 2023, with an expiration date of December 31, 2026.
The Board member vacancy will be filled by Board appointment in accordance with policy po0142.5. The appointee is expected to serve until the next Regular Board Election. The Board will accept resumes and interest letters from interested individuals by Friday, August 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
Requirement: Residency in Dearborn Heights School District No. 7

-Interest letter that addresses your interest in being appointed to the school board, and your prior experience and role in serving on governing boards, committees, or any involvement in school activities. Interested candidates must also describe their commitment to public education and what they believe are the strengths and needed improvements in the district.

Application Timeline:
Resumes and interest letters will be accepted beginning August 15, 2024 and must be received in the district office by email, in-person, or postal service by 3:00 p.m. on August 27, 2024. Resumes and interest letters received after 3:00 p.m. on August 27, 2024, will not be accepted.
Interviews:
Candidate interviews will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the end of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education which begins at 7:00 p.m. at O.W. Best Middle School, 22201 Powers Ave., Dearborn Heights, MI 48125.
We ask that candidates arrive by 6:45pm. The order of interviews will go in alphabetical order by last name.
